The award for “Largest Gathering at a Morrison Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting” goes to Optometrist Bradley R. Yaklich and wife Elizabeth, owners of Vision Source. On Thursday, August 22, 2013, 45 people attended the noon Grand Opening of their newly-remodeled location–626 E. Lincolnway, Morrison, IL. Amanda Cook recorded the ceremony.
There were attractive and varied, choose-your-own door prizes and Darnell Blacklock’s delightful refreshments. Those may have been an enticement. More than that, four generations of family members, office staff, Chamber members, and others just seemed happy for the young Yakliches.
The staff includes Jennifer Hinton, Technician and Optician; Reannon Nailor and Donna Seger, Technicians; Amy Oncken-Cameron, Receptionist; Bobbie Joe Prins, Office Manager.
Shown below in front, left-to-right, are Dr. Brad Yaklich holding son Jaxson, wife Elizabeth, and Brad’s mother Joy. His father held the red ribbon at the left in the top photo. Mike Yaklich and area tradesmen crafted the renovations of the attractive, accessible building, inside and out. These began when the couple took ownership on Monday, July 15. The new Vision Source location opened its door three weeks later, on Tuesday, August 6. Final touches will be completed soon. Click here to see the beginning of the renovation.
“It really was [adding] brightness and ease of getting in and out that [were] the main goal[s] of the move,” stated Dr. Yaklich. “[We] have a little better parking, visibility, and access.”
And what do his patients say about the new location? “They really like the front stone. One person said, ‘It’s too nice for Morrison!’ They like seeing that we used local tradesmen.”
Additionally, he and Elizabeth have received compliments on their frame selection. “Frames are an accessorary,” he explained.
Current and new clients are welcome to see for themselves.
