virginia mcconnaughyVirginia M. McConnaughy, 95, of Centennial, CO, formerly of Morrison, IL, died Tuesday, January 12, 2016, at Littleton Adventist Hospital in Littleton, CO.

Virginia was born May 14, 1920, in Morrison, to Clifford T. and Effie (Haberer) Schutt. She was educated in Morrison schools and Stephens College. On July 3, 1943, she married Wallace B. McConnaughy. He died May 9, 1999. Virginia worked as a secretary in the Philadelphia area for about 37 years before retiring in 1997 and continuing to live in Phoenixville, PA. She attended Valley Forge United Methodist Church and was a member of their Bell Choir. In 2003 she moved to Centennial, CO, to live with her daughter and son-in-law.

Survivors include her daughter Marcia (Sam) Drury, grandson Paul (Heather) Drury, step-granddaughters Marilyn (Dan) Johnson and Donna (Rodger) Burke, and step-grandson Ken (Karen) Drury. The latter four families at the great-grandchild level include a total of 15 children.

Virginia will be buried beside her husband Wallace in Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL, at a later date.
