Clinton, IA, resident and Quad City Symphony violinist Sarah Cullen will present “Concert for a Cause,” on Friday, February 28, 2014, at First Evangelical Free Church, 1010 13th Avenue North, in Clinton, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
All proceeds from the concert will be donated to the Clinton YWCA Women’s Crisis Center, which provides shelter and other help to women and children who are dealing with the effects of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Cullen, who holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in violin performance, will play a variety of praise and classical selections. She will be accompanied by Christine Holmer of Clinton. Holmer has accompanied for Ashford University, the Clinton Showboat Theater, and RiverChor. Morrison concert-goers will also recognize her as the accompanist for the Morrison Ministers Council “Messiah” concert, which will be presented in April 2013.
While there is no admission charge, a free-will offering will be taken.
According to Cullen, “I don’t know what I’m more excited about: sharing the music I love to play with our audience, or seeing how much we can bless the YMCA Women’s Crisis Shelter with the night’s free-will offering. Regardless, it promises to be a great evening!”
