As a treat for Odell Public Library patrons, cellist Sam Sykes will perform on Saturday, February 14, 2015, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. and again from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Odell Public Library, 307 S. Madison Street, Morrison, IL. Sykes, shown below, is an 8th grader, the son of Phil and Carrie Edlund Sykes from Dubuque, IA, and the grandson of John and Anne Frame.
The 13-year old cellist has studied the cello since the age of three. He now studies privately with Kevin Price-Brenner. Sam is member of the Dubuque Youth Symphony and regularly plays with the cello section at the University of Wisconsin–Platteville.
His Valentine’s Day Serenade will include the music of Bach, Faure, Saint-Saens, and others.
