CGH Medical Center, 100 E. LeFevre Road, Sterling, IL, expects to have Pfizer vaccine available at the Main Hospital for youths ages 12 to 15, soon after it is approved in mid-May 2021.
The hospital will start a Sign-up List soon, although the vaccine will be available immediately. Call the COVID-19 Vaccination Hotline at 815-632-5298. Supply at CGH will be based on the allotment from the Whiteside County Health Department.
Pfizer is seeking further approval to vaccinate younger children before year’s end. Vaccinations for youths five-to-11 should start in the fall. By the end of the year, youngsters age two-to-five will get protection from COVID-19.
