United Way of Whiteside County provides free meals to children in 18 communities all summer long. “Our program provides kids in Whiteside County with nutritious meals during the summer months,” said CEO Keri Olson. “Making food accessible to our youth when school is not in session is vital, to ensure a healthy community for all.”
Meals will feature kid-friendly foods like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, juice, crackers, granola bars, and fruit cups. No registration or ID is required. Participation is open to all Morrison, IL, children and teens.
Each youth is able to get three, grab-and-go meals, on Wednesdays, from noon to 12:30 p.m., at Crossroads Community Center, 201 Market Street.
