United Way Grant Funds to Assist Fulton Residents

Posted by

UWLogoUnited Way of Whiteside County (UWWC) has received a $10,000 grant.  The organization is collaborating with its partner agency, Tri-County Opportunities Council, and the City of Fulton to distribute the funds to households in Fulton, IL.  Monies will be provided to households that have fallen behind on rent, mortgage, or utility payment, because of an impact from COVID-19.

Funds are available following a grant proposal submitted by the United Way, to help mediate the coronavirus (COVID-19) impact on residents.

At this time, one grant will be released per household.  Monies will be directed to the vendor who is owed (not the household resident), to cover rents, mortgages, or utilities.  Amounts will be capped on a per-household basis, to ensure sufficient funds exist to help all who apply.  COVID-19 impact must be shown in order to be eligible.

An application is available on Tri-County Opportunities Council website.  Go to https://tinyurl.com/yal9ldpt to view or fill out the application.  Links are also available on each entities’ social media and websites.

Aside from the public health concerns, United Way of Whiteside County pledges its support to the many community and nonprofit leaders who are being called to make critical decisions in response to this coronavirus.
