On Thursday, October 3, 2013, the U. S. Capitol Building in Washington, D. C., was locked down and police instructed people there to “shelter in place,” after the sound of gunshots was reported in the area of the Capitol, just after 1:00 p.m. Central DST.
ABC News said they received a report that one person was injured in a shooting there.
A CNN reporter said during a live report, from the office of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, that Reid indicated one person was injured in the alleged shooting.
Another CNN reporter inside the Capitol confirmed receiving an order to shelter in place.
