Two Arrested for Cannibas Possession in Vehicle

On Saturday, July 6, 2024, at approximately 9:56 p.m., a Whiteside County Deputy conducted a traffic stop on Freeport Road, N. Lynn Boulevard, in rural Sterling, IL, for speeding.   The driver, Nathan Baldwin, age 22, of Sterling, was arrested for Possession of Adult Use Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle, a Class A Misdemeanor.  Baldwin was also cited for speeding 69 MPH in a 55 MPH zone.  A passenger in Baldwin’s
vehicle, Nicholas Dudley, age 21, of Rock Falls, IL, was also charged with Possession of Adult Use Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle.  Baldwin and Dudley were issued a Notice to Appear and released from the scene.

The public is reminded that all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
