This fall, Trey Simmons, left, is expanding his leadership role off the Fulton High School football field, by working at the Robert Fulton Community Center (RFCC.) Simmons was assigned to work with the Tourism and Community Services Director, Regina Lehman, right, to meet requirements for a “Community Involvement” class.
He and Lehman have made plans for the RFCC to sponsor a Watermelon Eating Contest at next weekend’s “Fall Festival, Saturday, September 26, 2015. When Simmons discussed this at school, he said there was a lot of enthusiasm for the contest.
“It’s a luxury to get some help to promote and plan things for the Community Center. I am planning fun, but meaningful, work for Trey to assist me with, while he is on board this semester,” Lehman said on Thursday, September 17. “It is also a plus to get some exposure for the Community Center with the high school kids.”
Simmons and Lehman are also planning a Trivia Night Fundraiser and a program for high schoolers, to be held at the Robert Fulton Community Center.
