Rat trapsThere is always someone to welcome you during a visit to Morrison’s Heritage Museum, 202 E. Lincolnway, Morrison, IL, Fridays through Sundays from April to November.  Docents who serve Morrison Historical Society are a treasured asset.  They open the building from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and can offer information about displays.

Morrison Historical Society begins the 2015 season on Sunday, April 26.  Quilter Connie Barr, Morrison, will begin her Laura Ingalls quilt presentation at 1:30 p.m.  A large display of items reminiscent of “The Little House” series will add to the enjoyment for adults and children.

A week before the museum opening, Michelle and Vern VanDyke, Trustees of the Historical Society Board, will host a training session for experienced docents. The session is Sunday, April 19, at 1:00 p.m., in Morrison’s Heritage Museum.  They will

  • watch a short DVD.
  • learn how to find information in the card file.
  • discuss docent responsibilities.
  • share in a question and answer period.

Coffee and cookies will be served.
