As the holiday season arrives, it is difficult not to think about the ones who we love. Morrison Community Hospital would like to encourage the community to reflect on those that we have lost and the wonderful memories that we still have. “Thanks for the Memories” is the theme for the 25th Annual Tree of Lights at MCH, 303 N. Jackson Street, Morrison, IL.
In the front lobby, the staff will decorate a tree with lights and angel ornaments in the memory of loved ones. The Annual Tree of Lights is a joint effort between staff, the MCH Foundation, and members of the community, as we celebrate the Christmas season. Names of those remembered will be posted by the lobby tree and also published on thecity1.com and in the Whiteside News-Sentinel. We also will decorate the evergreen tree located in the yard in front of the white house, north of the hospital, to honor our loved ones.
To memorialize your loved ones, send a note with each person’s name and a $5 minimum donation per name, to Morrison Community Hospital Foundation, ATTN: Mick Welding, 303 N. Jackson Street, Morrison, IL 61270, before Tuesday, November 22, 2016. Click here to print the nomination form. Editor’s note: The supplied form states “23rd Annual Tree of Lights.” You may use this older version.
Trees will be lit at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 1.
This year, proceeds will support the mission of the Morrison Community Hospital Foundation. “The mission of the Morrison Community Hospital Foundation is to support the Morrison Community Hospital, foster its growth, and to perpetuate excellence in health care.”
The community is invited to stop by and participate in the lighting of the tree on December 1. The lobby and outside trees will stay lit through the duration of the holiday season.
After Friday, December 30, ornament donors are free to take home an angel, as a remembrance of their loved ones.
