The Morrison Mustangs scored early and needed only five innings to send the Annawan, IL, Wethersfield Titans home with a 13-1 loss on Thursday, May 12, 2016.
Ryan VanZuiden only allowed the Titans three singles while striking out five; he earned the win in a non-Conference game at the Morrison Sports Complex. The Mustangs attacked the Titan starter Chessman in the first inning. Ben Tegeler greeted him with a double, and Ethan Fischbach launched a triple. There was no looking back, as the Mustangs tallied six runs. Five more runs were added in the fifth inning. Cody Southern was hit by a pitch before four consecutive singles by Tegeler, Fischbach, Joey Brackemyer, and Justin Jensen. This established an insurmountable lead for the Mustangs.
