Dana Nelson, Whiteside County Clerk, announced that “grace period registration,” for residents who did not register to vote by the Tuesday, March 5, 2019, deadline, will be available through Monday, April 1, for the upcoming Consolidated Election on Tuesday, April 2.
Voters who register during the grace period must register in the office of the County Clerk and must cast their ballot that same day. Those people registering during the grace period cannot vote at their polling place on Election Day.
When registering to vote, two forms of identification are required. One must show the current address of the applicant.
Individuals may register and vote in person during normal office hours (Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) and also on Saturday, March 30, from 9:00 a.m. until noon, at the Clerk’s office at Whiteside County Courthouse, 200 E. Knox Street, Morrison, IL.
