Timber Lake Playhouse, the professional summer theatre of Northwest Illinois, is offering a weeklong Youth Performance Workshop at the playhouse in Mount Carroll beginning Tuesday, July 24 through Saturday, July 28, 2018. The workshop is directed by TLP’s Education Director, Robert McFletcher-Jones.
This performance camp with a Musical Theatre theme focuses on developing strong performance skills, while emphasizing self-confidence, self-expression, creativity, concentration, self-esteem, individual style, public speaking, and group cooperation skills leading up to a public performance. Participants will have the opportunity to showcase their acting, vocal performance, and/or dancing skills. This summer’s camp will use the music and story of Joseph as the theme. Participation in the Performance Camp is open to children ages 7 to 12.
On Saturday, August 11, 2018, TLP offers a one-day Children’s Theatre Workshop from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The three-hour workshop includes structured storytelling games, creating characters, team-building ensemble activities, and a chance to learn about all of the creative departments involved in putting on a show. The cost is $30 and includes a ticket to the Magic Owl Children’s Theatre performance of Madagascar. Participation in the Children’s Theatre Workshop is open to children ages 7 to 12.

The Performance of Camp Joseph is Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. and is open to the public. Tickets are $10. To purchase tickets, visit www.timberlakeplayhouse.org or call the Box Office at 815-244-2035. The Box Office opens at 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. seven days a week and until intermission of the final show on show days. The playhouse is located at 8215 Black Oak Road in rural Mount Carroll where you “Come for the Show, and Stay for the Experience!”
