Thomas R. Lawson, Jr., age 56, of Sterling, IL, died Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Rock River Hospice & Home in Sterling.
Thomas was born August 18, 1967, in Dixon, IL, the son of Thomas, Sr. and Karen (Madden) Heflin. He served in the U. S. Army and later was employed at Parkway Restaurant as a Cook for over 30 years. Thomas was a die-hard Chicago Bears, Cubs, Blackhawks, and Bulls fan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing video games, spending time with his family, and snuggling with his cat, Dexter.
He is survived by his siblings, Whitney (Matthew) Gerrity of Rock Falls, IL, Kimberly (Scott) Webb of Dixon, Shawn (Katie) Lawson of Rock Falls, Michael (Sheena) Merema of Morrison, IL, and Michelle Goff of Douglas, WY; three step-children, Amy (Scott) Landrum of Carpentersville, IL, Erich Helle-Warren of Sterling, and Natasha Warren of Rock Falls; two grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; step-father, Wayne Heflin of Sterling.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
