thomas daltonThomas E. Dalton, 73, of Morrison, IL, died Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at his home.

Tom was born October 23, 1940, in Montello, WI, to Eugene Wesley and Blanche (Harris) Dalton. He was educated in the Montello Grade and High Schools in Montello. Tom served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War. He married Carole Tomlinson in 1962 in Morrison. She died in 1966. They had one son, Jeffrey Dalton. He later married Andrea Gail McDougall on October 7, 1967, in Morrison. Tom was employed as a truck driver for Vend-omack, Hyponex, Minaret Trucking, and most recently Dohrn Transfer in Rock Falls, IL, retiring in 2005. Tom was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Morrison and had served on the church council. He was also a former member of the Morrison Dunlap Lodge #321 AF & AM. Tom enjoyed yardwork, classic cars, motorcycling, and traveling and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.

Survivors include his wife, Andrea; one daughter, Jennifer (Noah) Chambers of Morrison; one son, Jeffrey (Lisa) Dalton of Erie, IL; five grandchildren, Amanda Dalton, Hillary Dalton, Dalton Gray, Allyson Gray, Leslie Chambers; one great-granddaughter, Aubry Smith; six sisters, Dorothy Koch of Baraboo, WI; Betty Hayes of Portage, WI; June (Vern) Morgan of Fond Du Lac, WI; Virginia Eiberg of Wauwatosa, WI; Nancy (Irvin) Shurpit of Neshkoro, WI; Barbara (Paul) Pfeiffer of Montello; two brothers, Robert (JoAnn) Dalton of Neenah, WI, and Jack Dalton of Zion, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Carole; one sister, Judy Dalton, and one brother, Donald Dalton.

MEMORIAL SERVICE:  2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Bethesda Lutheran Church, Morrison, IL

OFFICIATING:  Pastor Bob Burton, Pastor at Bethesda Lutheran Church, Morrison, IL

VISITATION:  12:00 noon until the time of the service, Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Bethesda Lutheran Church, Morrison, IL

Cremation rites have been accorded.

The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Bethesda Lutheran Church, Morrison, IL; Relay for Life–American Cancer Society; Gaffey Hospice.
