The Whiteside Forum to Host Archaeologist Michael Wiant

Posted by

MichaelWiantWhat was happening in our town 2000 years ago–and how do we know?  With a special emphasis on Albany Mounds in Albany, IL, Dr. Michael D. Wiant will talk about “Illinois 2000 Years Ago and the Rise of a New Way of Native American Life.”  This is a rare opportunity in our area, and all are welcome!

The Whiteside Forum will host Dr. Wiant on Thursday October 22, 2015, starting at 6:30 p.m., in the City of Morrison Community Room of the Odell Public Library, 307 S. Madison Street, Morrison, IL.

Please meet, listen to, and question one of the premier archaeologists in the State.  Dr. Wiant is the Director of the Illinois State Museum at Dickson Mounds, that chronicles 12,000 years of Native American history in the Illinois River Valley.

Having just celebrated the National holiday of Columbus Day, now might be the right time to hear “the other side of the story.”

This program is appropriate for all age groups and is free and open to the public.
