On Thursday, October 24, 2019, The Whiteside Forum will host Guest Speaker Stanley R. Mitick, in the Program Room, in Odell Public Library, 307 S. Madison Street, Morrison, IL. His program begins at 6:30 p.m.
Mitick will talk to us about his career that spanned 62 years working for General Electric Appliance Control Department here in Morrison, as well as the company’s operations in Singapore, Malaysia, Mexico, Iowa, and Connecticut.
His 62 years included 44 years as an Engineer and in Engineering Management and 18 years in Technical and Engineering Support.
In addition to his many years at GE, Mitick is a veteran of WWII. He served as a pilot in the Army Air Corps in Europe and was stationed in Germany after the war with the occupation forces.
He and his wife Ruth (a native of Morrison) are long-time Morrison residents, and both are involved in many civic outreach activities. The couple has traveled extensively.
General Electric opened in Morrison on July 1, 1949, and closed on September 12, 2010. It is still one of the largest manufacturing companies in the world.
Please join us for this unique opportunity to hear Mitick and to ask questions about Morrison history, World history, Global economics and how the future is unfolding.
All Whiteside Forum events are free and open to the public.
