The Sharing of Communion Worldwide October 2

On World Communion Sunday, October 2, 2022, Methodists, in partnership with other denominations worldwide, participate in in Communion, to recognize our unity in Jesus. Begun in 1933, the Reverend Hugh T. Kerr, a Presbyterian Pastor of Pittsburgh,PA, sought to demonstrate the interconnectedness of the Christian Church, no matter the denomination.

Morrison United Methodist Church, 200 W. Lincolnway, Morrison, IL, will participate in World Communion Sunday. The public of any denomination is invited to attend this service, which begins at 9:00 a.m.

On this Sunday, a special offering is taken. It is given in support of students of various races and ethnicities, to help in achieving their education. The United Methodist Church, the world, and our communities are in a time of transition. Now, perhaps, move than ever, we are being called to extend healing and hope. The world needs these talented, qualified, and diverse students from around the globe–to transform the world, through their witness, energy, love, and friendship.
