“The History of the Amish in Whiteside County” is the featured program of the Sterling-Rock Falls Historical Society’s meeting on Sunday, March 8, 2015, beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the CGH Ryberg Auditorium, 101 E. Miller Road, Sterling, IL.
Guest speaker will be Ernest Blosser of Tampico, IL, one of the oldest members of the local Amish community. He is also a history buff and an author concerning this group. Blosser will trace the story of the Amish religion.
Blosser will explain how most of the Amish in Whiteside County trace their history back to families from Bureau and Henry Counties. They started settling in Whiteside in the early 1940s.
This meeting and program are open to everyone, and there is no charge. Everyone interested is welcome to attend.
