The American Legion Poppy Poster Contest

AmericanLegionLogoOn Tuesday, March 15, 2016, The American Legion will celebrate its 97th anniversary.  Thank you so much for your support of the oldest and largest Veterans Service Organization in the World!

The American Legion Post 328 in Morrison, IL, is sponsoring a Poppy Poster Contest on behalf of The American Legion Department of Illinois. 

Submission deadline to The American Legion Post 328, 306 E. Main Street, Morrison, IL, is Monday, April 11, 2016.

Monetary prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in the 4th through 9th grade category and the same for Sophomore through Senior category.  First places in both categories will be submitted to The Department of Illinois for the Statewide competition.

 

Poster contest rules are:

  • open to 4th graders through Seniors, including Developmentally Disabled students
  • must contain the words “The American Legion” and “American Legion Auxiliary”
  • any additional words on the poster shall not exceed ten words (not counting a, an, the, or and) and may not contain “Buddy” or “Buy”
  • must include the Flanders Poppy with the stem
  • must be on 12 x 18 poster board (either orientation)
  • computer graphic posters are not permitted
  • may contain the U. S. Flag, as long as U.S. Flag Code is not violated.
