Donnybrook Bakery Café, 203 W. Main Street, Morrison, IL, will be open Friday, November 27, 2015, and Saturday, November 28, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Lunch begins at 11:00 a.m.
“We grind our beans for every cup of coffee, including decaffeinated,” said the owner.” In the morning, have a regular or flavored coffee or one of a dozen teas with fresh, homemade Cranberry Pecan Scones, Apricot and White Chocolate Chip Scones, or Chocolate Chip Scones; gigantic Cinnamon Rolls; Cranberry-Orange Muffins.
The expanded lunch runs through 6:00. Two favorites are back, including
- Dubliner (ham and cheese panini-style/grilled sandwich) on mapley Apple Fritter toasted bread, with cranberry fluff, cole slaw, or potato salad, pickle, and chips
- Ham Salad on a bed of fresh lettuce on Wheat bread, with cranberry fluff, cole slaw, or potato salad, pickle, and chips
- Donnybrook (corned beef panini-style/grilled sandwich) with cranberry fluff, cole slaw, or potato salad, pickle, and chips
- Chicken Salad sandwich on Cranberry-Oat bread, with cranberry fluff, cole slaw, or potato salad, pickle, and chips
- homemade, gluten-free Chili and Corn Bread on Friday
- Chicken Pot Pie with Buttermilk Biscuit on Saturday.
“If Uncle Jim ate all the pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving Day, do not despair,” advised Vaughn. “We have Pumpkin Pie with whipped cream and apple crisp with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Our new Cranberry Fluff really adds flavor to your meal.”
Non-alcoholic and alcoholic Thanksgiving and Christmas drinks are available from morning until night. The new Tugboat Holiday Blend coffee is being served, and 12 oz retail bags are available for purchase. Jack Frost Mocha is already a favorite; try Peppermint Mocha.
Donnybrook Irish Coffee is made with only real Irish Jameson whiskey. Have a sneak sip of the Christmas Walk specialty drink, the Donnybrook Toddy–made with Irish Celtic Honey.
