Former Morrisonian Nicole Tegeler has created a way to build a new community center for Annawan, IL, from mud!

Actually–from the enjoyment of muddy kids, ages four through 14, who will participate in the Mighty Titan Youth Obstacle Mud Run, on Saturday, October 5, 2013.

The “fun, pumped-up event” is for youth of all fitness levels; the events are not timed.  Tegeler owns the enterprise, which opened in March.

Kids can be registered at MightyTitanAdventures.com.  The preregistration fee is $25.

The mud run takes place at Howe’s Park in Annawan, from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m., with waves of children beginning every ten minutes.

They will test their skills on the .75 mile to 1.5 mile course, filled with 14 or more obstacles.  Course names like “Croc Crawl,” “Tazmanian Tunnels,” and “Dirty Turtle Hurdles” add to the fun.

Nicole Tegeler“I’ve been an athlete since I was five.  I started with competitive swimming and have always been interested in how to get myself and others in better condition,” she stated in a 2013 interview for The Courier-Journal

“Mighty Titans opened in March, and Xcel opened in 1994.  I design and implement all youth, adult, and sport performance programs.  I’m the main coach, but I do  have some some assistant coaches who help with some of my kid programs.  I do a lot of research to create the best programs for my clients.  I also practice what I coach, so that means lots of training myself, so I am in great condition to teach them.”

“I love helping people feel better and have more energy.  I love helping kids find a fun way to exercise and build their self esteem.”

Tegeler’s youth event is part of the Fall into Annawan Festival. Adults can have fun during the Annawan Canal Ambush.  Triathletes will canoe the Hennepin Canal, run, and bike.
