Morrison Historical Society welcomes Heritage Canyon interpreter Carol Fritz (second from left) as program presenter, on Sunday, June 23, 2024. Doors open at 1:00 p.m., and her program begins promptly at 1:30. Fritz will share a short DVD interview with the late Harold Wierenga, who crafted the interpretive village in a former limestone quarry.
Morrison’s Heritage Museum, at 202 E. Lincolnway, Morrison, IL, is accessible to all, with a ramp at the rear of the building. There is no charge to attend.
Fritz (at right) will document the history of the simulated 19th century village, which was built over several years, by the Harold Wierenga family and volunteers. The grounds are always open, but the destination is open three times a year with building interpreters and family activities.
