Sue H. Pape, 94, of Morrison, IL, died Thursday, July 26, 2018, at Morrison Community Hospital in Morrison.
Sue was born November 19, 1923, in rural Whiteside County, IL, to George and Ivy (Beswick) Howe. She was educated in rural Whiteside County and was a graduate of Morrison High School. Sue married Warren “Deb” Pape on June 28, 1940, in Wapello, IA. He died February 17 1969. Sue worked at Swift’s in Clinton, IA, separating eggs. During WWII she worked at the Savanna Ordinance Depot making ammunition. She later worked for Volckmann’s Furniture Factory in Morrison until retirement. She also upholstered furniture on the side, with her sister, Billie. Sue enjoyed sewing and quilting.
Survivors include one daughter, Jayne Pape of Morrison; two sons, Larry (Nancy) Pape and David Pape, both of Morrison; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Warren “Deb;” two sisters, Mary Merle Nice and Emily “Billie” Sikkema; one grandchild, Lar Rene “Punk” Pape.
The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 30, 2018, at Morrison United Methodist Church, with Rev. Ryan Sutton officiating.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, July 29, 2018, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL.
A memorial to Morrison United Methodist Church has been established.
