Four adults and six young adults from First Presbyterian and Morrison United Methodist Churches will return to Leona Vicario–some for the third time–for a week this summer, continuing their mission work of community and global service.
Leona Vicario is about 40 miles from Cancun, Mexico, the location of the nearest high school. Students interested in achieving an education beyond 8th grade now must enroll in boarding schools in distant communities. The new school will make it possible for teens to continue their literacy while living at home.
