Chilly winds and cloudy skies didn’t discourage the Morrison Fillies (3-0) and Bureau Valley Storm (3-0) from playing their best Softball. Each team had allowed only one run through five innings, when the Storm scored the go-ahead in the sixth inning and took a 2-1 lead into the bottom of the final seventh inning.
The “never-say-die” Fillies used two outs to fill the bases, when their last hope stepped into the box in the form of Isabelle Duncan. With a two-strike count, Duncan drove an inside pitch down the third base line that bounced off of the bag and rolled into left field, as two runners scored to seal the victory 3-2.
Isabelle Duncan drives game-winner.
Close play at Second.
Jordan Eades pitches a three-hitter with ten strikeouts.
