On May 9, 2016, the Fillies herd was an offensive machine, as they shutout the Bureau Valley Storm 16-0.
Lauren Pannier gave up only a second inning single and another in the fifth to calm the Storm’s offense. The Morrison offense crossed the plate easily and often. Brooke Stralow, Jaeden Workman, and Lauren Pannier hit consecutive singles in the opening inning. Pannier later scored, as the Storm committed two errors to establish a 4-0 lead after one inning.
Consecutive hits by Emma Melton, Lauren Vos, Stralow, and Workman plated two more runs in the second inning.T
The Fillies crossed the plate six times in the third inning with the aid of three singles, a walk and error, and a Vos double. This eliminated any hope for the southern visitors.
The stampede continued in the fifth inning as Melton tripled following walks to Emily Szabo and Madison Steines. Melton was sent home by another Vos double before scoring on a Stralow single that ended the afternoon before the rains came.
