Steven J. Lester, 63, of Morrison, IL, died on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center of Peoria, IL.
He was born on June 9, 1960, in Sterling, IL, the son of John and Beverly (Buckingham) Lester. He married Rebecca L. Howard on May 24, 1986, in Sterling. She preceded him in death on June 25, 2022. Steven was a long time member of the Who Else Club of Nelson, IL. He enjoyed being outdoors, camping, and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his mother, Beverly Lester of Sterling; children, Lucas (Lindsay Lopez) Howard of Rock Falls, IL, Spring (Steve Schick) Lester of Rock Falls, Justin (Carmelita) Lester of Rock Falls, Casey (Carrie) Lester of Roscoe, IL; sister, Linda Wilburn of Sterling; brother, Dean (Ann) Lester of Sterling; ten grandchildren, Hannah, Zoie, Stevie, James, Emma, Ember, Sophia, Cecilia, Miles, and Lucas, Jr. “Bear.”
He was preceded in death by his father; wife; brother, James W. Lester.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the McDonald Funeral Home of Rock Falls, IL.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
