The 2021-2022 school year at Morrison MCUD #6 carries a hope of positive change as students return in mid-August. The Morrison High School Football program is already seeing change. New Head Coach Steve Snider makes his presence felt, while orchestrating activities in the weight room and on the turf.
Coach Snider is an Orangeville, IL, native who played Football for, and graduated from, Eureka College in 2009. His wife, Kimberly, also graduated from Eureka College and is currently teaching in the Forreston, IL, school system. Snider returned to Orangeville and has been teaching and coaching there for the past five years. He noted that Football had to be involved if he were to ever move.
”I love the game and everything about it!” Snider exclaimed.
Assisting Coach Snider will be Nate Anderson, Sammy Biggs, Brian Onken, Tim Stout, and Danny Willis. Individual roles have to be determined before the assignment of a Fresh-Soph Coach is made, but Coach Snider is excited about the ability and commitment of the Coaches currently assisting the program.
When questioned on his expectations for his players, Snider quickly and enthusiastically responded, “Accountability! I expect each and every Mustang to be accountable for their actions in the weight room, on the Football field, in the classroom, and out in public. I expect them to work on these accountability factors each day. These disciplines make for success on the Football field.”
Coach Snider extended great praise to his high school and college coaches and the effect they had on his life. He noted how he wanted to have the same impact on his players.
The fans of Morrison Mustang football will see a Delaware Wing-T offense. Snider jokingly says he is “the only Coach under the age of 50 in Illinois to run this offense.” It requires a lot of movement and deception, with every player involved in every play.
Google defines the Wing- T as follows: “The Delaware Wing-T is a multiple formation, four-back running attack, that depends heavily on play-action passing and misdirection, utilizing synchronized schemes, both in the line-blocking and backfield action.”
Steve and Kim will be closing on a new home in Rock Falls, IL, in mid-August. They will be centralized for their daily treks to-and-from their respective schools.
Coach Snider closed with, “I want to be in Morrison as much as possible. I want the people of Morrison to see my face and know that I am here to build a successful Football program.”
Welcome to Morrison Coach Snider!
