Morrison Music Theatre Association will present the iconic play “Steel Magnolias” this weekend. Performances will be in the auditorium at the Morrison Institute of Technology, 701 Portland Avenue (IL Route 78), Morrison, IL, on Friday, June 3, and Saturday, June 4, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. A Sunday, June 5, matinee begins at 2:00 p.m.
“Steel Magnolias” began as a successful off-Broadway play, which was then adapted into a blockbuster motion picture, starring Dolly Parton, Sally Field, Shirley MacLaine, Julia Roberts, Daryl Hannah and Olympia Dukakis. It takes place in at a beauty parlor in a small Louisiana town, where these ladies share town news and their joys and sorrows.
Advance tickets can be purchased for $10 at Fitzgerald Pharmacy, 124 E. Main Street, Morrison. They will be available at the door for $12. Children aged 11 and under will be admitted free of charge. There is no reserved seating.
