Empty MHS gymnasium stands greeted the opening game of the Boys Basketball seasons for Morrison and Fulton High Schools, on Tuesday, February 9, 2021. Superintendent Scott Vance, of Morrison Community Unit District #6 stated, due to health guidelines for fan attendance, “at this time our facilities are not large enough to meet these guidelines….Therefore we will not be allowing fans to attend home games.” Live streaming is available for home games.
The Three Rivers Conference Basketball season finally opened, as the Morrison Mustangs welcomed their rival neighbor from Fulton, IL. First game mistakes kept the score close throughout the evening. The end result came down to the inefficiency of the Mustangs at the free-throw line. They completed only one-of-eight on the evening.
The Mustangs fell to the Steamers in a tight game, 49 to 50.
Mustang Zach Eads (54) guards the Steamers Kyler Pessman (11) during the season opener for both teams.
Steamers Drew Dykstra (10) adds pressure as Mustang Alex Anderson (5) looks for help in advancing the ball downcourt.
