Editor’s note: The Department of Natural Resources has closed Rock River in four Illinois Counties.
Whiteside County Sheriff John F. Booker announces effective immediately that a No Wake Ordinance is being put into effect, for the Rock River in Whiteside County, IL. The Ordinance is the result of the rain, flooding forecasts, and substantial increase in the current flow rate.
Sheriff Booker strongly encourages everyone to stay off the Rock River until further notice. He says, “Dangerous conditions will make navigation and rescue operations difficult.”
