State Police 2017 Activity and Enforcement Report

StatePoliceLogoIllinois State Police District 1 Commander Carl Heintz announced on Friday, January 5, 2018, activity and enforcement figures for calendar year 2017.  Troopers in District 1, which includes Carroll, Lee, Ogle, and Whiteside Counties, recorded 13,217 incidents during the year. 

In addition, enforcement figures totaled 7157 Citations and 7049 Written Warnings, including 4156 speeding citations; 76 DUI arrests; 638 seat belt citations; 1939 Written Warnings for speeding; 279 criminal arrests.

Troopers assisted 992 motorists and conducted 1551 Motor Carrier Safety Inspections.  District 1 handled 201 traffic crashes.

During the year, 5336 Citations were issued for “Fatal Four” violations.  These violations are most associated with fatal traffic crashes and include Speeding, DUI, Failure to Wear a Seat Belt, and Distracted Driving.
