St. Mary Parish Celebrates Rev. Antilion

60St. Mary Parish of Morrison will celebrate the birthday and ordination of Reverend William R. Antilion on Sunday, June 22, 2014, at a 12:00 luncheon in the parish hall, 13320 Garden Plain Road, Morrison, IL.  The celebration will recognize Father William’s 60th birthday and his 35 years as an ordained priest in the Catholic Church.

He was ordained in the Philippine Islands in 1979, and served in many capacities as a priest.  His last assignment was in the Manila Catholic Diocese of the Philippines.  Reverend Antilion came to the United States in 2001.

During a sabbatical visit by an American priest from the Chicago, IL, Diocese to Manila, Father William became interested in serving in the United States.  The Diocese of Rockford, IL, contacted him, and his vocation to become an American priest started in Illinois in June 2001.

  • Father William’s first American parish was in St. Catherine’s of Sienna, West Dundee, IL, from 2001- 2003.
  • In 2003, Father William was assigned to St. Joseph Church of Lena, IL.
  • He moved to Morrison in June 2005. 
  • Father William was appointed as Pastor of St. Mary Parish in 2008.
