Members of St. Mary Catholic Church, 13320 Garden Plain Road, Morrison, IL, hosted a pro-life gathering, on Sunday, October 3, 2021, in opposition to abortions.  Supporters of “Life Chain” met at the northwest corner of E. Lincolnway and N. Jackson Street from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.  This is the first such event in Morrison.

There were “seven, long prayerful Intentions for the Unborn.  Ministers from the community [and] one from a Rock Falls[, IL,] church, along with community members of Christian faiths, participated in the hour,” reported Kaywyn Beswick.

“Seven Ministers, Pastors, and a Priest [led] the Prayer for the Unborn, at the beginning of the event,” explained Beswick.  “I only knew about 10 or 12 people there.  Around 50 participants [attended] from at least seven different churches.”

Life Chain is an anti-abortion social movement organization, one of the largest in the United States and Canada.  It was started in 1987 in Yuba City and Marysville by a small, California-based Pro-Life ministry, called Please Let Me Live.  Every first Sunday of October, Life Chain invites various churches and congregations across the United States and Canada to stand on designated sidewalks to pray and rally for one hour.
