If you have someone to talk with, sometimes a repair task is more enjoyable.
Often a repair task is more interesting to watch than perform.
It was even more so, because the watcher of this strenuous chore had an ebony feline to cuddle.
The cat had strolled across N. Cherry Street to access the craftsmanship taking place, on Saturday morning, September 9, 2017.
The sidewalk’s side wall leading to St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, 401 N. Cherry Street, Morrison, IL, had been damaged by salt.
Member Jerry Brown is shown in the deconstruction phase of renovation. Muscle and a hammer were his tools of choice.
He began Friday, September 8. “Next week,” Brown stated, he will finish building wooden forms and pour concrete to make a new wall. The handrail will be reinstalled, too. He said no red brick work is being done.
Perhaps co-church member Marc Adami, also of Morrison, and the inky, curious cat will reappear to keep Brown company.
