Splendid Day for End of May Car Cruise

Posted by

Lloyd DeShane organized an old fashioned, Sunday, May 31, 2020, drive through a bit of Whiteside County, IL.  He had scheduled an ideal spring day.  Cross-country vistas were blessed by azure skies, awash with white, fluffy, Cumulonimbus clouds.

Beginning at 1:00 p.m., 50 vehicles departed Odell Public Library, 307 S. Madison Street, Morrison, and drove east along U. S. Route 30 to Rock Falls.  Jerry Lindsey supplied this photo taken at DQ Grill & Chill, 200 N. Sawyer Road; it shows ten cars.

DeShane had publicized, “…join or leave the cruise at anywhere you would like.”  When the caravan left Erie, IL, en route to Albany and then Fulton, DeShane stated “over 70” cruisers had amassed.

Participants enjoyed a short adventure outside their homes/yards and safely shared that experience with others.  Well done, Lloyd DeShane.
