On Wednesday, September 4, 2024, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Congressman Eric Sorensen will host a Town Hall with residents of Illinois’ 17th Congressional District.  Constituents may participate over the phone.  A recording of the event will be made available afterward.  The telephone Town Hall format will allow Congressman Sorensen to be more accessible to his nearly 750,000 constituents, spread over 14 Counties and 6933 square miles.

To take part, dial 833-380-0743 at any point during the event.

Sorensen will speak directly to residents of Central and Northwestern Illinois about the bipartisan work he is doing in Congress to serve his neighbors.  In addition, he will address issues his constituents care about most:  lowering costs for families; creating sustainable, good-paying jobs; making communities safer and healthier.

Sorensen has invited State Representative Sharon Chung, who represents the 91st District in the Illinois General Assembly (which covers portions of McLean, Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford Counties,) and Rockford Mayor Tom McNamara to join the call.  They will talk about the work they are doing to lower costs and fight inflation.

Congressman Eric Sorensen serves on the House Committee on Agriculture and the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology.  Prior to serving in Congress, Sorensen was a local Meteorologist in Rockford, IL, and the Quad Cities for nearly 20 years.  His District includes Illinois Quad Cities, Rockford, Peoria, and Bloomington-Normal.
