Slow Start for Mustangs

The weather has finally offered a few baseball friendly temperatures and the Morrison Mustangs will carry a 3-2 record into the upcoming thirty day period that will determine their status entering the IHSA State Playoffs.  To date the Mustangs have wins over Newman (7-3), Riverdale (17-1),and Orion (12-1) and have fallen to Rockridge (6-2),and Oregon (2-1).

This roster carries only two seniors (Kollin Burn, Bill Lee Greul) so the younger players are filling critical positions and gaining valuable experience.

The batting averages to date follows: Ben Tegeler .500, Kollin Burn .429, Justin Jensen .400, Bill Lee Greul .400, Joey Brackemyer .357, Chance Bender .333, Dustin Zigler .333, Triston Houzenga .316, Brock Smith .312, Mason Sitzmore .267, Andy Bird .250, Ryan VanZuiden .083
The pitching responsibilities have been shared by Bill Lee Greul (11.2 Innings), Joey Brackemyer (12.1 innings!) and Ryan VanZuiden (7.0).

The week starting on Monday, April 17 has the Mustangs playing at home Monday ( vs Bureau Valley), Tuesday ( vs Rock Island Alleman), Wednesday ( vs Kewanee) and Thursday (Amboy). All games starting at 4:30p.m.,
