BARBARA J. FAULKNER, 60, of 613 – 2nd Avenue, Fulton, IL died Tuesday, December 1, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton, IA.

Barbara was born on November 9, 1948 in Chicago, IL to Edward C. and Martha L. (Swanson) Guth. She was a graduate of Bogan High School in Chicago, IL. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, IL and did graduate work at Western Illinois University. She married Craig R. Faulkner on December 23, 1970 in Fulton, IL. Barbara was employed by CBS Television as an Executive Secretary for Sales and Advertising. She was employed by the Riverbend School System as an art teacher for the Fulton Middle and High School. She then worked for Gateway Travel in Clinton, IA, followed by Compliment Conversion Vans in Camanche, IA. She was a Sales Associate for LCM Conversion Vans in Elkhart, IN. She also worked for McEleney Motors in Clinton, IA and was most recently employed as Director of Sales and Marketing for three different Best Western properties including the Frontier Inn in Clinton, IA. Barb was a member of Fulton Presbyterian Church in Fulton, IL and served as a Sunday School teacher. She was a member and officer in the North Scott and Clinton Rotary Clubs and a volunteer and board member of the Red Cross Clinton, IA chapter. She was a member of the board of directors of the Gateway Chamber of Commerce in Clinton, IA and served on the board for the Clinton Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Survivors include her husband, Craig; her parents, Ed and Martha Guth of Fulton, IL; two sons, Mark (Meghan) Faulkner of Lake Jackson, TX and Brian (Jasmine) Faulkner of Fort Collins, CO; two grandchildren, Brady Faulkner and Wade Faulkner; three sisters, Beverly (Tihomir) Mijatovich of Glencoe, IL, Linda (Jerry) Bish of Scottsdale, AZ, and Carolyn (John) Brzezinski of Evanston, IL.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:30 AM Monday – December 22, 2008 at the Fulton Presbyterian Church – Fulton, IL

OFFICIATING: Rev. Dr. Stanley Bomgarden – Pastor: Fulton Presbyterian Church – Fulton, IL

VISITATION: 4:00 – 8:00 PM Sunday – December 21, 2008 at the Fulton Presbyterian Church – Fulton, IL. The Fulton Chapel – Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

INTERMENT: Fulton Township Cemetery – Fulton, IL
