ESTHER M. BEHRENS, 92, of 533 E. High Street, Morrison, IL died Sunday, December 7, 2008 at Morrison Community Hospital in Morrison, IL.

Esther was born on April 22, 1916 in Sterling, IL to Oliver and Ida (Metzler) Dohner. She was educated in the Sterling Grade Schools and was a 1933 graduate of Sterling High School. She married Elmer L. Behrens on October 17, 1936 in Sterling, IL. He preceded her in death on August 13, 2001. Esther was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Morrison, IL. She was a past member of the Lakeview Country Club in Sterling, IL and was an avid golfer. Esther enjoyed square dancing and traveling and winter trips to Florida.

Survivors include five sons, William (Audrey) Behrens of Sterling, IL, James (Diane) Behrens of West Bend, WI, Ronald (Sandy) Behrens of Sterling, IL, Gerald Behrens of Morrison, IL, John (Amy West) Behrens of Morrison, IL; nine grandchildren, Marcia (Terry) Ratliff, Doug (Donna) Behrens, Kira Behrens, Jenna Behrens, Milissa (Shawn) Beyer, David (Amie) Behrens, Adam (Amy Bender) Behrens, Chris Behrens, Patti (Mitch) Renkes; thirteen great grandchildren.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:30 AM Friday – December 12, 2008 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church – Morrison, IL

OFFICIATING: Rev. Mike Winkelman – Pastor: St. Peter’s Lutheran Church – Morrison, IL

VISITATION: 6:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday – December 11, 2008 at the Morrison Chapel – Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home

INTERMENT: Grove Hill Cemetery – Morrison, IL
