MABLE B. URBAN, 85, of 26735 Seyller Road, Prophetstown, IL died Monday, December 1, 2008 at Hammond Henry Hospital in Geneseo, IL.

Mable was born on December 31, 1922 in Prophetstown, IL to Eugene C. and Bertha (Swinke) Currie. She was educated in the Prophetstown Grade School and was a graduate of Propehtstown High School. She married Byron G. Urban on August 15, 1941 in Erie, IL. Mable was a homemaker. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Hooppole, IL and the church’s Fellowship Class. She was an active member of the Henry County Home Extension and a Red Cross Volunteer.

Survivors include her husband, Byron; one daughter, Janet (Terry) DeDecker of Altoona, IA; two sons, Richard (Nancy) Urban of Signal Mountain, TN and Stan (Luanne) Urban of Hooppole, IL; eight grandchildren, Craig (Kari) DeDecker, Christopher DeDecker, Beth Rippey; Bree (Brian Hatch) Urban, Brandt Urban; Jared Urban, Derek Urban, Katia Urban; five great grandchildren, Christopher DeDecker, Jayde Rippey; Reegen, Xahria and Lainee Hatch.

She was preceded in death by seven sisters and one brother.

VISITATION: 4:00 – 7:00 PM Wednesday – December 3, 2008 at the Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home – 320 Lafayette St., Prophetstown, IL

INTERMENT: Hooppole Cemetery – Hooppole, IL
