LILLIAN M. PETERSON, 96, of Resthave Nursing Home in Morrison, IL died Friday, November 28, 2008 at the nursing home.

Lillian was born on February 12, 1912 in Geneseo, IL to Lewis and Clara (Maeltzer) Wiese. She attended the Geneseo grade schools and graduated from Geneseo High School in Geneseo, IL. She married Herbert A. Peterson on September 2, 1934 in Geneseo, IL. He preceded her in death on December 19, 2001. Lillian was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Morrison, IL where she was in Ladies Aide and the Martha Circle. She also taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Marlene (Mrs. Robert) Balas of Harshaw, WI; one son, Marshall (Lynn Tinsley) Peterson of Murphy, NC; two grandchildren, Mark (Amy) Balas, Lynn Gregory; five great grandchildren, Stephanie Balas and Scott Balas, Michael, Emily and Everett Gregory.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert; one sister, Florence Miller; one brother, Clarence Wiese.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 11:00 AM Friday, Dec. 05, 2008 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church – Morrison, IL

OFFICIATING: Rev. Mike Winkelman, Pastor – St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Morrison, IL

VISITATION: 10:00 a.m. Friday, Dec. 05, 2008 until the time of the service at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church – Morrison, IL, The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements

INTERMENT: Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, IL
