Ashford Junior-Senior Honor Society Collecting Gifts |
|
The holiday season is a time for giving and the Ashford University Junior-Senior Honor Society is collecting gifts to give to senior citizens. The group’s Senior Citizen Giving Trees are located in Ashford’s Flavian Center and at Clinton National Bank’s Lyons branch office. The ornaments on each of the trees specify a needed request; just choose an ornament from the tree and buy the item listed on the ornament. If you prefer to donate money, a honor society representative can even shop and do the gift wrapping for you. The last day to put wrapped gifts (with tags attached) under the trees will be December 1. “Please help to make this holiday season special for the seniors in our area,” said Erica Eyskens, honor society President. The honor society will also be participating in a fundraiser on Monday, Nov. 24 from 5-8 p.m. at Pizza Ranch. “Our organization receives 100% of the tips and 10% of all proceeds,” Eyskens said. “The money raised will go to help with the senior caring trees. Please come eat at Pizza Ranch on Monday, Nov. 24 to help support the Senior Citizen Caring Trees.” About Ashford Founded in 1918, Ashford University® is a coeducational institution regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, with programs in education, business, accounting, criminal and social justice, computer animation and graphic design, and other areas.
