W.C. Sheriff’'s Traffic Safety Campaign |
|
The Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office will be participating in the Thanksgiving Holiday “Click It or Ticket” traffic safety program of Illinois. The program will began November 15, 2008. Whiteside County Sheriff’s Deputies will be offering directed patrols on assigned highways and roadways throughout Whiteside County all in an effort to reduce traffic crashes and save lives. Whiteside County Sheriff Deputies will be keeping a watchful eye out for impaired drivers, speeding violations, alcohol and drug violations, those disobeying Stop signs and those not buckling up seat belts. The directed patrols will be conducted on many different roadways in Whiteside County, including U.S. Route 30, Route 84, IL Route 136, IL Route 172, Prophet Road, Moline Road, Freeport Road, Chase Road, Holly Road, I-88, Science Ridge Road, McCue Road and as well as others. If you are driving during this Thanksgiving Holiday, whether it’s a short trip to the grocery store or a long haul across the state, and you aren’t buckled up and obeying the speed limit you will get a ticket. Buckling up is the simplest act to save a life and slowing up can prevent a traffic crash. During the next few weeks, deer will be crossing the highways more frequently, as it is mating season. Extra caution is suggested when driving especially during the hours of darkness. The last word of caution from the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office is to be aware of rapidly changing weather and road conditions as Winter is approaching quickly. by Editor, theCity1.com |
