We Sing For Their Supper to Perform at UMC

WE SING FOR THEIR SUPPER, an ecumenical choral concert of one hundred and thirty singers, will be presented in the United Methodist Church on Sunday evening, November 23 at 6:00 PM. A free will offering will benefit the Morrison Food Pantry and the Christmas Helping Hands Project, which helps each needy child have a present for Christmas. With hard economic times, this concert of Praise to God provides an opportunity not only to celebrate our gifts and blessings but also to help those less fortunate.

The choirs of seven churches, First Baptist, First Presbyterian, St. Mary’s Catholic, Ebenezer Reformed, Emmanuel Reformed, Bethesda Lutheran, and United Methodist, will each perform two numbers. A sample of the evening’s program include: “I Shall Not be Moved,” “We Are the Church,” “We Are Called,” “He Touched Me,” “Old Time Religion,” “Dancin’ at the Rock,” and “There Stands a Cross.” The concert will open with the combined choir and congregation singing the Thanksgiving hymn, “Come, Ye, Thankful People, Come,” and this concert of praise and unity will conclude with “For the Beauty of the Earth” by John Rutter.

Directors of Music and accompanists include: Kathryn Janicek, Laurie Wilkins, Carole Reisinger, John Frame, Connie Swanson-DeSpain, Rich Criss, Karen Mouw, Linda Adams, and Marguerite Clark.

A social time of coffee and cookies will follow the concert in Heritage Hall. All are welcomed to join in this fellowship.
