HELEN I. POMEROY, 90, of 800 12th Avenue, Fulton, IL died Sunday, October 12, 2008 at Harbor Crest Nursing Home in Fulton, IL.

Helen was born on December 18, 1917 in Powers Lake, ND to James and Helena (Weinmann) VanBerkom. She attended the Powers Lake, ND schools. She graduated from the Clinton Business College in Clinton, IA. She married Edward Pomeroy on August 31, 1957. He preceded her in death on March 28, 1978. Helen was employed with the former Nielsen Clearinghouse and the former Professional Fulfillment Corporation in Clinton, IA. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and the United States Bowling Congress. She was an avid bowler, bowling in Clinton, IA leagues for 50 years.

Survivors include one daughter, Jeanne (Mrs. Gerald) Hoese of Fulton, IL; five grandchildren, Libby (Rob) Letcher, Dennis (Sarah) Hoese, T.J., Jeremy and Jeffrey Hoese; five great grandchildren; one brother, Larry (Bev) VanBerkom of Mesa, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward and four brothers, Lester, Earl, Arlo and Ardell VanBerkom.

Funeral Information

FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:30 AM, Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Fulton, IL

OFFICIATING: Rev. Father David Austin, pastor of the Immaculate Conception Church – Fulton, IL

VISITATION: 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, with a 7:45 PM vigil service

INTERMENT: Calvary Hill Cemetery – Fulton, IL
