Leonard Dean Hahn

April 29, 1925 - October 01, 2008

Leonard Dean Hahn, 83 of Sterling died Wednesday October 1, 2008. He was born on April 29, 1925 in Olive Branch, IL the son of William R. and Bessie (Bledsoe) Hahn. He was a veteran of WW II having served in the US Navy from 1942 - 1946.

He married the former Mary B. Miller on June 6, 1946 in Cairo, IL. Mr. Hahn was employed at the former Northwestern Steel and Wire Co. for 32 years retiring as an electrical supervisor. He was a NASCAR fan especially the Earnhardt family and was a member of the Sterling American Legion Post 296.

Surviving is his wife, Mary; his daughter, Sandra (William) Blevins of Sterling; his son, Mickey Joe (Barbara) Hahn of Morrison; three grandchildren: Shayne (Sandra) Blevins, Lathe (Mary) Blevins and Christeen (Frank) Thayer; and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Leon Hahn.

Funeral services will be held on Friday October 3, 2008 at 11:30 AM in the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls with the Reverend Scott Porter officiating. Burial with military rites will foolow at Oak Knoll Memorial Park.

Visitation is Friday from 10:30 - 11:30 AM at the funeral home.

Memorials in his memory to the Diabetes Research would be appreciated.
